i just read one of website on Revit tutorial http://aec.cadalyst.com/aec/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=402757. when i look at the building it amaze me,do you've an idea how they create that kind of shape or form. what tool in revit are they use (extrude,blend,sweep) or they just create using sketchup ang import it into revit? and the windows (family) or panel they created

i have been looking into this myself. its all done with families, blends, etc. and driven by parametric formulas. i was told there a some papers in the AU 2006 classes on this process. i think there are archives located at AUGI for the yearly AU forms. there also may be some from AU 2007. if i find anything this weekend i will let you know

Most of this technique was developed by Phil Read of Autodesk.  Check out his class handouts from AU2007 and also see if the datasets with the parametric families are there.  It takes a fair amount of math and understanding of the math and how it drives Revit to make these shapes, but once you have it figured out the results are amazing.
