I am currently learning revit 8. I have the book from SDC, but am having trouble forming the foundation. I set up the walls, interior and exterior, then came through with the floors. But no concrete slab, or footings. Anyone have any suggestions for me on completing this? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys....

I generally make the floors one of the last things to model. Just one more line to tab through when aligning walls. You can build your foundation from either the foundation level and overlay the walls above to assist in placement or my prefered method is to model the foundation walls from the first floor and set the location of the foundation in the properties dialog. This allows me to accurately pick the core of the stud wall as the reference for the exterior side of the foundation wall. When using overlays, the core is not visible (you can however offset your new walls if that works better for you. I tab through the wall so that it picks all attached walls and if everything aligns properly, you can build your entire foundation perimeter in 5 seconds.
