I believe the way to do this is to save the geometry out of Rhino into a 3D cad file (.dwg file) then import the model into a family.  (Create a new family, then use import/link and bring in the .dwg file).

As you no doubt know, Rhino is excellent for modeling the kinds of things not normally contemplated by the Revit toolset.  Organic shapes, etc. with high accuracy.

Thanks for replying

I did this & got an error message:

Some numerical data within the imported file was out of range. Data has been truncated.

I made sure the dwg model was near 0,0,0.

Any ideas?

Cheers

you can import 3d surfaces, save the 3dm model as a sat file. Then in revit create a mass, import the sat file, and then use the mass tools(wall by face, floor by face, etc).

Yes, I just saw my post from 2 years ago and it offers bad advice, the .dwg format is a bad idea.

Rhino geometry imports flawlessly to Revit if you use the (ACIS) .sat file format.    The other key thing to remember is to import that geometry into the Family Editor, rather than directly into a Revit project.      (Start a new .rfa (family), select an appropriate family template, and import the .sat file.     You can define materials, etc. at that point.     Save the family and import the family into a revit project.)
