Alright, we've got a stacked wall that has the finish wrap/turn back around an opening, which happens to be a door.

We've assigned a rough opening to the width and height.  How can we get the rough opening width to show up in a call out/detail?

I've attached two pictures to hopefully illustrate what I'm referring to.

Do you want a dimension to show up in the tag? or do you want something to show up in the call out at a finer detail?

If there was an opening in the detail, we could place a dimension there.

But I think to answer your question, we want something to show up in detail.

In the door family you can add detail or symbolic lines that only show up in Fine Visability. Or you could add actual elements that only show up in Fin Visability or create an object style in the family that is call rough and turn it on in details and off in plans... Either way that should give you someting to referance...

That sounds like a good plan, is there any reason why Revit would not incorporate the space in their automatically?  You think that it could do that.

 Thanks.

I wouldn't plan on Revit CO. doing anthing with families. I would expect the door co. or manuf. to start providing Revit Families for you to down load. Contact the vendors you use and tell them you want Revit, not DWG.
