I have problem with plot setting. I  saved various size plots ( 30x42, 24x36,...) under HP1050 plotter to keep standard and don't have to enter variables every time. When I hit plot and selected particular saved plot size it didn't updated the paper size on main plot screen. When I preview the drawing still it shows in-session plot with
8.5x11 paper. Same thing in PDFs. Ultimately I am not able to us saved settings. Any ideas....

Does the plotter driver not have an Arch D and Arch E paper size already programmed in?  I remember having to fight with the paper sizes in the CutePDF dialogue before getting them to work right. There not a "Custom: 24x36" option you're overlooking is there?

That's about all I can think of.

Let us know what ends up working.

  Thanks for your response.

As we set up in Aiutocad, I am trying to setup various oversized custom papers. I wants to setup

standards so every user don't have to go to the properties and deal with various papr sizes.

In Adobe we can setup POST SCRIPT PAPER SIZE 24 x 36 whatever you want and save it.

I am not sure this is possible under Revit!!!!

I think in regards to the settings you are speaking about, you will want to set up a template that everyone in the office starts with (it can be on a server and have all the Revit seats open the template as the default template).  In that template you can save all the different paper size settings.  We have a "Draft 24x36," "Final 24x36," "PDF 24x26," etc., etc., etc.  This saves which printer to use, the paper sizes, print quality and anything else you want to specify.  Saves some time Smile

Yes. We are trying to create standard templates in the office so everybody can work in format.

The problem is, Revit allow us to setup different size sheets under SETUP tab. But when I select

particular sheet it doesn't update to in session plotter....

ok.. so you select your size in the setup dialogue.  Hit OK.  And then when you preview, it's still showing up as 8x10 paper.  Sounds like the sizes you set up in the printer configurations (not in Revit) are not playing well.  Is there not a Arch D 24x36 or Arch E 30x42 option already pre-configured in the paper size menu?  This size is also available with the PDF printer we use (CutePDF) pre-configured with no custom settings.  I'm thinking the problem is not in revit, but your printer drivers/software.  May want to try reinstalling the printer drivers at minimum.

Thanks for staying tuned with this issue and for your time.

In AutoCAD custom sizes works fine in both plotter and Adobe. The paper size is not a problem but, it is like you mentioned in initial couple of lines. When you select any size it is not updating to "in session" set up. I have to go to the properties and physically change papers/ colors, scale, etc...

each time...

First, I want to ask i f you have called your Revit distributor for help on this?  Then, I just want to make sure I understand what is going on.  You go into setup and change the paper size, it does or does not change to <in session>?

I'm slowly piecing together what's going on here... essentially, your printer properties are not syncing with the paper size selection in Revit's print setup.  That really sounds like something you need to call Autodesk support about.  Especially if it is working fine with other programs.  Of course, you could always just try reinstalling the printer drivers to see if it allows revit to sync back up with the printer.

Let us know what ends up working.

Is saving up the print settings in the Revit template the only way to "transfer" settings from project to project (and version to version)? We are currently using 2009-2011 in our office for various reasons. I'd like to get standard print settings on everyone's computer but really don't want to open each project on each person's desktop to specify printer settings. Any advice you could give would be great.

Thanks!
