I have two basic questions that I do not know how to do yet. Please help with these.
1. How do you show elements above as hidden lines on your floor plan?
2. If I have a room that has a door separating it into two rooms, how do I get a Room Tag to recognize it as one room?
Thanks in advanced.

1. View-->Plan Region (Sketch out area to be shown and select the properties)

2. If there is a wall between those rooms it will be a room....perhaps if there is a door only you can make a door family that does not need a wall?

In response to the Second question, make the portion of the wall which hosts the door as a Non-Room bounding element.  Assuming the wall hosting the door continues outside the room or only a portion of it is to be included (i.e. 2 nested L-shaped rooms), you will have to split the wall in 2 or more pieces (again depending on what you want to define your room boundary) and change the properties for that/those segment(s).  This will prevent you from having to create a non-hosted Door Family and can be done quite easily.

Thanks!

Question#1

I could not get the plan region to show up, so I just drew in the lines in the plan.

Question#2

I made one of the seperating walls a non-room bounding wall, and it worked perfect.

Always helps to check the properties of a wall....one little check mark "Room Bounding"...good to know!

As for the Plan Region...check your view range and Cut Plane....lets say Cut Plane is at 4'-0" but your window is 6'-0" from base...  When you create the Plan Region and go to properties (Before you finish sketch) you get a view range window again....change the cut plane to 7'-0", for example, and then finish sketch.  You should see your window after that without having to add the lines yourself.
