Does anyone know how to do a solid revolve using a profile?  I am trying to make a finial and I have already created the complex shape making it a profile family.  Now I am trying to bring that profile in make it into a finial.

I also tried doing a solid sweep but for some reason my profile is turned 90d even though I sketched in the proper quadrant when creating the profile.

Thanks in advance!

Use the sweep command. If the sweep is fliped then click on the check box with Fliped. This should fix it. Post the profile if you need more help.

for your finial, I would make a generic family. before you start to make your solid revolve, import your profile into one of your elevation views, i.e. front view, and place it on your vertical reference plane. then select solid revolve, make your axis on the vertical reference plane, then "draw lines", but use the pick arrow instead of the "pencil" and tab select your profile. click finish and you should have your finial
