My Q is this - is there a way to have a beam dispaly as an "overlaid" element ie. a steel beam within a floorslab zone so that the top of the top flange is at the same level as the top of the slab with the floor cut patterns not shown where the beam is located. Image attached - hope this is all clear Thx for your help.

Try using a Detail Ccomponent in that case. You may need to edit it to include a fill, but I'm pretty sure they have a fill included.
