im wondering how everyone is sharing notes from one project with another. we have the same notes that need to show up on each project. and if we update them they all need to be updated. as of now we have been linking autocad files to the drafting veiws and placing them on the sheet but the type gets all screwy and doesnt look clean. so im thinking theres gotta be a better way to have common shared notes using revit. the only way i can think of is to use a family that has our notes in it, but then the issue is having to go back in every file and updating the family every time we make a change. so if theres a better way...id love to know!

Boy, I hope there is an answer to this. I am relatively new to Revit, but think this must available. I think 2008 allows you to "link" other project files, just like a Acad "xref". I wonder if this is the sulotion to your (our) problem.

RocketDog, of course there is. the process is as follows

file - import - cad (if it is the format) or revit - at this point i would recommend linking your details or notes in, just incase you need to change them (to update this file - manage links and select the link you want to update and select reload). now also revit does not handle text well which as far as i know is why its hard to make sets. we have to do our notes in cad, export a blank sheet that is project specific so that it matches the others. hth
