Hi everyone, new member here...

I've got a bit of a problem with a land surveyor CAD drawing that I received.  Basically it showed no contour lines, no legend, just points with levels.  I have some idea on how to tackle the problem but when I did it, the land was simply wrong.  The land is VERY slopey but the land i produced is too slopey.  Its like Mt. Everest.  I attached the land surveyor CAD file.  This is all I received to generate the topography and no there are no Z coordinates.

It'll be greatly appreciated if someone could help me ASAP and show me a method.  I need to do this by next week with massing and everything and time is running out.  Ahhhhhhhh....

Thank you.

Can't seem to open your file but if the only data you recieved was for the x and y coordinates then it's impossible to get a topography. I'm guessing you recieved a survey with GPS data points which in fact should have some z coordinates but may be referencing a benchmark. They should all be relative though so if you can identify the change in topo then you should be able to convert it to an accurate contour map. You may only be off by a decimal point which would make your contour 10X more extreme. Try uploading a pdf or bmp.

I think it's a 2007 file which may be the problem with opening it Dgodfrey. I think what you have to do is import the dwg file into your project. Then under site, make topo. you should pick points, type in the elevation listed from the dwg file, then add your point right where he has the "x" marked. I just tried it with yours and it seemed to work pretty easy, although quite tedious and time consuming.

Maybe try to post on the augi forums under civil3d and see if someone might be able to give you topo lines from the file or tell you how to do it more efficiently than what I just said. It shouldn't take you too long with my method, just really bites that the surveyor just gave you some points. It doesn't give you a very smooth surface it seems either.
