I want to draw a ceiling plan with joists and rafters with the floor plan walls showing underneath either in hidden lines or lightly shaded. If I'm in the ceiling plan view with the first floor underlay on, drawing with lines results in the message about not being able to see the work in this view and check the view range. After all kinds of different view range settings, I still can't see the lines I draw. I also find it very bewildering to be told my depth of range is lower than my top cut plane which is an error. Any help? thanks.

I think you would be better off if you made a new level for your joists and rafters. ceiling plans are reflected. I'm not sure what the concept of the view ranges are on RCP's though. lines might be turned off in the visibility
