I've been trying to model a ceiling that slopes in two directions. When I try the slope arrow in a diagonal line, Revit picks one of the two orthagonal directions to slope the ceiling but not both at once. Any suggestions?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you would need 2 slope arrows to accomplish what you are talking about. I would run the slope arrows perpendicular instead of diagonally. A slope arrow shows where the plane surface direction is going and you tell it to slope "x"

if you are still having trouble, try posting a screenshot  of what you are trying to do if you can.

revit doesn't allow me to create a second slope arrow after placing the first one. i think i figured it out, though. if you use a work plane for the first slope, then apply a slope arrow for the second slope, you get a ceiling sloped in two directions.

you could make an in-place ceiling using a extrusion blend.

ah, sorry, you're right. only one slope arrow on ceilings. you could make 2 separate ceilings or use the roof tool instead to get your 2 slope arrows.

puzzles advice is good too.

Hi smurphy, I am having trouble creating a sloping floor in 2 directions. I sloped my first plane, then set it as my working plan. Then I tried to add another slope arrow when I tried to edit the boundary of the same plane and I couldn't. How did you go about this again? Thanks, jlt

You say you want a floor that slopes in the x and y directions?....  Well that is called an arrow along the hypoteneuse.   Just define it as elevation of head & tail instead of slope dimension.  Draw the arrow from corner to corner.
