hello...I downloaded a great tutorial on creating revit families from the Autodesk website. I got the link from one of Mr Spot's (thank you!) postings (which I can't find again). I'm about halfway through the 70 pages when it asks for a file under Training Files\Imperial\Families\i_Wood Floor Truss_1.rfa. I've looked all over (my computer, Autodesk website) and I can't find this file, or this folder. I'm using Revit Structure 4. The tutorial title page says Autodesk Revit Building 8.1 Imperial Tutorial, dated July 2005. It is one chapter, called Parametric Component Design Techniques.

Does anyone know where I might find the files that go with this tutorial?

In return I'm asking you to post a link to Mr. Spots post with the link to this tutorial Smile

Of course, this may not work if you're not using 9.1 Sad

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Thanks, rkitect. I can't find Mr Spot's post, but I found the tutorial on Autodesk's website:

http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/Autodesk_Revit_Building_8.1_Tutorials_Imperial.pdf  (for Revit Bldg 8.1)

http://revit.downloads.autodesk.com/download/9_1/TutorialsBuildingImpENU.pdf  (for Revit Bldg 9.1)

These tutorials are more comprehensive, but include the chapter on Parametric Component Design Techniques.

Now, as for the file...thank you very much! But, the tutorial continues to ask for various files from that same folder: Training Files\Imperial\Families. I think I need that folder (and maybe others as well). I'm probably not the only one either. Does it come with Revit Building? If so, how can Revit Structure users get it?

 thx

go to help>documents on the web and see if it takes you to the correct revit download section. I think you have to find a .cab file, or cabinet file

Thank you Framerman...I downloaded the .cab files from Autodesk's Revit Structure download page, and also the.cab files from the Revit Building page and did not see those files in any of those!  I couldn't find them on the page that has the tutorial downloads either. They must be somewhere?!?! Is there another section of the Autodesk website I'm not finding?
