I have taken the same wall and broken it with 3/4" wide gaps to simulate wall control joints.  They then read in plan, elevation, and 3D and it makes a simple callout for detailing.  I take two lines, 3/4" apart and multiple copy them along one long wall.  I split the wall, trim to the line, no problems, then all of a sudden it won't work anymore.  I can't get the ends of the walls within 4" of each other without the walls joining.  I have deleted the two crazy walls and copied two walls that divided correctly into that spot and the good walls turn into crazy ones.  Why do the gremlins in Revit hate me so much?  Anybody got any suggestions?  Other than quit worrying about it and draw one long wall with no breaks!

2nd Image was kind of crude.  Here is one with 5 times the pixels.  Hope it works this time.

if you are trying to keep the walls from joining

try selecting your walls, right-click over the blue-dot at the end and select "disallow join"

....................if you can tell me how to get my HP Plot Drivers to let me plot sheets directly from Revit, I will forever be in your debt.

One question:  Why would part of the same wall have the "connect wall selection" on and another part not?  Is there some little thing I did that triggered this that I am not aware of?

 Thanks, again.

In the image attached, you see one of those places that I want to create the 3/4" split in the wall.  Despite the fact that both walls have the "disallow join" selected, the left hand wall keeps joining with the right.  Since the right hand wall was behaving properly, I deleted the left, mirrored the right over to the left and it started doing the same thing!

These are stacked walls.  Is there something in the three wall types that I stacked to create this stacked wall that could flop around occasionally and create the "joining" problem despite the "disallow join" being selected?  Notice that part of the wall IS split correctly.  This is the base of the stack which contains a pre-cast concrete sweep on top of stone.  The sweep is what you see on the front of the wall that is split.  The second level of the stack is a brick on met stud wall.  IT is the one "joining when told not to." Up above the cut line is a siding on met stud wall (for the gables) but I assume it is not the culprit since it is not visible in plan view.

Anyone?  Anyone?

The wall clean-up issues you are having are a problem because I think you are making a mistake doing your wall control joints as you are.  If you want a control joint that shows up in plan / elevation & 3d, use a wall reveal.  Then you won't have the wall clean-up issues.

Would it be a better option to make the control joint using a void. This way the wall would still be one and you would have no join issues.

Reveals can be vertical or horizontal - look at your status bar.
