i am having a lot of trouble with room names in my door schedule. i drew curtain walls and changed the panels to doors, however my door schedule is picking up the door numbers, but not the room name for those doors. there is not even room options to pick from in the drop down list of the door schedule, and you can't type them in. i'm not sure what's happening, but it's kind of hit-and-miss right now. some of the doors drawn this way are working properly in the door schedule (meaning you can see the door number and room name). room names are not visible for other doors drawn in the same manner. does anyone know what is going on and what the rememdy is?

i found out from revit that they are aware of this problem. until they fix this what you can do is change the panel in the curtain wall where the door should be to an empty panel, draw a wall in the place of the empty panel, then insert a door in the wall OR change the panel to a wall, and then insert a door. i haven't had any problems with exterior doors.Edited on: Thu, Mar 29, 2007 at 9:22:23 AMEdited on: Thu, Mar 29, 2007 at 9:37:41 AM

when you create a curtain wall it has a panel. you can create different panel sizes by using the curtain grid command. you can tab until you highlight the panel and then change what type of panel it is.

Thanks...I forgot you were using curtain walls. We are having this problem in all exterior doors. I think it is because the room boundry is not touching the door... could be 2 problems with same result. thanks for you help

Note also that if your curtain wall is embedded into a host wall, that host wall will separate the rooms rather than letting the curtain wall do it. This will block your room names from your door schedule. Simply split the host wall at both ends of the embedded curtain wall. Last step here would be to make sure that the curtain wall is set to be room bounding and the portion of the wall still hosting is not set to be room bounding.

I'm having a similar problem, only instead of the curtain wall doors showing up in the schedule without a room name, they're displaying the wrong room names. sometimes I have a couple of options in the pull-down menu, but neither one is the right room. what gives? does anyone have any other fixes for this besides the workaround mentioned above?
