Using callout view and setting the parent view / independent to independent and entering a (positive) value has been acting wacky and after closing and switching to some unrelated (negitive) value, usually along the lines of -2' 2 21/256". Anyone else have any hints for this or am I missing something? Thanks.

REVIT seems to have several problems with their view ranges in all view types. I attributed the problem to the fact that we are not on the latest 9.1 .... at least I hope that's what's wrong. My experiences: 1. Floor plan cutting plane settings sometimes don't work correctly. Two walls of different height but the same origin were shown differently even though the clipping plane went through both of them. Fix was to adjust the bottom clipping pane .... really strange because that plane was below both walls. 2. Elevations sometimes loose elements that are completely in the range of view. Fix was to make a completely new elevation with all the same settings. I think this problem occured after I had adjusted my view range several times. 3. Callouts of sections with different view depth settings from the parent sometimes loose elements.... This was NOT true initially. The view was correct then it became corrupted. I think it happened after I had adjusted the parent view's width. REVIT seems to get lost.

Thanks for the reply WWHub. Now for the bad news, we here ARE running 9.1! Maybe this will be addressed in 10.0?

I've not seen any other discussion on this issue except that in response to a previous post of mine. See: http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=6242 The response there was that they could not re-create my problem. is anyone else having similar problems?

Yup, me too (3 years later and on Revit 2010). I make a callout of a stairwell, and the view range of the callout is different to that of the parent view. anything above the cutting plane (1200mm above FL) is lost completely and I am left with no option to make the missing elements visible. Anyone with any ideas?

I am using Revit 2011, and I encoutered the same problem that I can't change the view range of a callout to show the stair correctly.
