I think it would be really helpful if the people at Revit developed a re-use or re-locate function where you can specify a component to be relocated in a certain phase. For instance, an existing light that I want to move to another part of the building. This would help with scheduling which objects are new and which ones are re-used and don't need to be purchased...

6.0 has an ellipse tool...you ellipses are a drawing tool option in the new release, however you cannot draw elliptical walls with the tool. (unless you do an in place family)

In a recent discussion I had with a Revit techie regarding phasing, they confirmed there was no 'tool' to distinguish reused items in a renovation project. However, you can add a field in your schedules for comments and call out save and reuse at location xx-xx. They said it was something they have on their to do list but, naturally, declined to mention any time frames. Interestingly enough you can not place new door/window openings in a refinished existing wall, Revit shows the cut in the new finishes but not the existing wall.

I agree. In my job, I am always renovating and need to relocate / reuse an item (door, sidelight, etc.) from a demo phase to a new construction phase.
