I have created some text in a file, then linked that file to another and rotated it. the text has rotated as well, which means it no longer fits nicely

any way that i can keep the text parallel to the original file, instead of it all rotating to the new page?

Any luck?  I have the same issue.  I have a north arrow that I would like the "N" to be stationary but have the arrow rotate.

i suggest putting the test in a location so that when in the end result everything will rotate, but the apperance will be correct.

as for the north arrow, if it is a family, go into the family file and rotate the arrow itself and not the text. save and reload the north arrow in to project.

I was looking for more of a parametric way of rotating the north arrow.  I guess I could set up an on/off parameter and use up/down/left/right.

 Just thinking out loud

definatly, you could do that, was just trying to give a easy fix.  if you understand families then absolutly set it up as a family that is parametric. it will fit more situations that way as well as save time.
