Our office bought the All Access Subscription plan through Archvision. Tried to generate some RPC families using the RPC content we purchased and get the error message "Unsupported File Version". If I browse through the RPC Filename, I can  get the file to stick in the family, but when I load into project and render, nothing renders, and if I check the properties of that RPC I see no RPC associated with it. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks

RPC content in revit supports the following http://www.archvision.com/RPCPlugins.cfm

Revit does not support animated RPC (3D+) content from memory.

Also make sure the location of your RPC files are added in your Settings-->Options-->Rendering tab.

Thanks Mr. Spot, checked all that, thinking I was missing something, have had no problem generating RPCs in the past. But I talked to Archvision today and they told me that the RPC all access content subscription (that sounded like a great idea) that we purchased does not work with Revit, because the content is under licenced under the ACM (Archvision Content Manager), Revit does not require the ACM module to load RPCs like other programs like Viz, thus you are not able to use it.  No problems because our office is moving into using Viz for all our renderings.  Thanks once again.

Revit 2012 Problems with Archvision RPC Content.

I have the All Access Subscription. I have downloaded a huge amount of available Content.  When creating a Family and adding indivudual RPC files to this family to insert into Revit, there is a problem of revit reading all the available list of RPC files. Some days it reads all the files in your Dowloaded Folder, other days it only reads a few.

Autodesk is aware of the problem and is apparantly working on it.

The "Dashboard" interface is slow & difficult to work with.  There is no proper Index in alphabetical format.  Archvision are aware of this and are apparantly working on it.  I have a Intel I7 2600 , 3.4ghz processor with 16GB Ram, so speed is not an issue here.

do you have those "extra" RPC in the same folder than the others (RPC's installed with Revit)?

Thanks TyphoonNo, with the latest implementation from Archvision, it doesn't have to be.You tell Revit where the location of "Archvision Content Manager".You tell Archvision Content Manager where your download folder is.I'm not sure if it is necessary to point ot the Download Folder in "Additional Render Appearance Paths", but it is there in any case.No problem with rendering these additional Archvision RPC once they are in the revit project. This morning when I went to add an extra plant to my RPC family, everything works find, the complete list of what I have downloaded is there!!,  last night I could see the RPC file but I could not get it into the Family!, even after rebooting the PC.I haven't installed yet "Revit Architecture 2012 Update 2" yetHere is a exerpt from correspondence I received from Archvision  ( I sure it is OK to post here, as it is positive and proactive)" ... the Dashboard is quite a young product and the current implementation of support in Revit is being worked on by both Autodesk and ArchVision.  There is currently a display issue with the content categories in Revit. Autodesk is aware of this I opened a ticket with them as soon as I was aware of this. Hopefully this is something that they will address via an update or in future versions.  There is newer version of Dashboard in the works that should make searching much easier and faster. I agree that the current version is slow and cumbersome. The search interface is not very good, but we are working on it.   "I have had other ocassional unrelated problems with Revit 2012 (64) running with Windows 7 Pro, mainly to do with Revit not being able to locate where files are.
