Im wondering if theres any way to dimension the core of a wall when the gyp is wrapped. i can only dimension to the end of the whole wall so then my dimension is 1/2" off. I have been drawing a detail line to have something to dimension to, but if theres a better way id love to know. L

Have you tried 'tabbing' through all your dimensioning options? When you are dimensions, click your from point and then hover over the gyp at the 'to' point of your dimension. Before clicking to set the point, hit tab until the end of the gyp is highlighted. You may want to turn of Thick Lines (TL) to help see what you're selecting. There is also a drop down box in the options menu of the dimension tool that says something like "Prefer:" with several options. Wall Face is the option you want (I believe it's Wall Center by default) HTH

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

It will not tab to the end of the stud, it only tabs to the end of the wall, which since it is wrapped is the gyp board.

This has bugged me for years. A drafting line or reference plane needs to be used to have something to dimension to. Not very 'Revit like'
