I have made a window awning and need to show symbolic lines in the floor plans. I have all the model turn off in plan view and want to just see the symbolic lines in plan. I have the symbolic lines on the ref. level. PS. I added a model line to see what would happen and for some reason when I load the awning back into the project all the symbolic lines showed up. But then I deleted the model line from the model and load it back in and the symbolic lines were gone. Any help would be great.

This happens because Revit only shows the family if the model is "visible" in this view (i.e. the view range includes some portion of the model) . Since symbolic lines are not model objects they don't make the object "visible" in the view. I suggest using an <invisible> model line that goes vertically between the awning & the level so that the view cuts the object.
