Hi.

We are doing a project with 35 different building types. We have 25 different revit files with the different unit types. And we will be printing the whole set off as one complete prokect so everything is similar as far as building details and notes. I want to use the same notes in all the different files. In autocad we would x-ref a detail note file to the sheet. And when we made changes it would update automatically. Is there a way to do this same type of thing in revit. What we've been thinking is doing a note family or a group. But this wont update unless we reload it into each file. Then we thought about doing a seperate project file for just notes and details that will be linked to each project. This seems almost more confusing but atleast we wouldnt have to worry about a file not getting the newest family uploaded. Anyone have any suggestions?

You could do the notes in AutoCAD and then 'link' them in to a Revit drafting view or views.  The 'links' are similar in Revit to an xref and will be refreshed when the project is first opened.

ok...this is a good option. why doesnt revit have a way to keep it within revit instead of having to resort back to autocad. cuz sometimes linked cad files go screwy when they're put into revit. thank you...L
