I am trying to creat a staircase using boudaries and risers.  I can construct the staircase, but when i finish it, revit trims the corners off of the winders (see pictures).  I have tried splitting the boundaries, but have not had any luck.  It must have something to do with the way I am construction the stair, but do not have any idea what is causing this.  Any suggestions?

I think it is because you have the one riser splitting the platform.  Revit thinks each side is a tread and that you are making a circular tread. I'd try this as two seperate platforms one riser apart.

BTW - Where are you?  A single tread like that was always called a trip here.  I don't know if it's allowed in the IBC because I've never tried it.

I agree.

your problem is the tread in the middle, get rid of it, you will also have problem with your balustrade...

I thought you may want to know I’m presenting on Revit Stairs and Railings during this week’s “Rockstar Hour”

Learning Objective:

Learn how Revit creates Stairs, both the basic and the advanced concepts.  See how Revit Creates Railings and uses Rail Baluster Families.  Not for the faint of heart, this one is going to be intense.

The “Rockstar Hour” is a free hour of Revit training.  Every week I come up with an hour long presentation on some issue or concept I’ve helped one of my clients with.  I’ll show my screen and present the good, bad and ugly side of the problem.  Including the concepts behind the tools, the process using the tools and key terminology.

The Web-base training is archived for you to at your convenience until the following weeks webinar is posted.

Join the meeting here.

Rockstar Hour:

9:30 AM – 10:30 AM PST every Wednesday

Hope to see you there,
