Hi thanks for gettiing back. Think i need to explain more. I am creating a bay window (i now there are loads of existing ones on the site but i am using this as a learning curve). I need get the width/thickness of the host wall and use it within the family. So what i am saying is there are parameters within my family that need to know the host thickness automatically rather than the user having to enter the wall thickness. Hope that makes it clear TIA
