a vertical curve? i would use an in place extrusion family

I would tend to use a sweep over an extrusion, either one should get you to the dance.

What about a horizontal curved soffit? I'm trying to create a soffit in elevation and it wont allow me to use extrusion or sweep in the manner that I want to. I have a curved archway that comes off the face of the building about 10 feet. I'd like to place a soffit under it the whole distance.

Just use the SOFFIT command under the Roof pulldown and sketch how you want your soffit.
