Darn its great to be mixing with my own kind at last! LOL Depart from your evil CAD ways. Have been on Revit for one year and loving it! Just coming to terms with the beast! Steve's first Revit tip to anyone who is as passionate about this Prog as Me. Three key primary muscles to Revit, each having its own unique but linked charactoristics. 1) Design 2) Documentation 3) Presention. All can be performed within Revit to incredible extents, but I have been burnt! Remember to try to stick to the task/job at hand as there are so many interesting side tunnels to explore and learn! "Dont get too distracted" especially at that walkthrough tunnel with lights lit! on with bitmapped backlit/bump surfaces and RPC people walking down it with Trees blowing!........What am on yous a think'in. Just remember "Documentation, Documentation, Documentation! That.............pays da bills at the end of the day. Thats me! Steve Hutana Post edited on 2003-09-02 16:51:44

It's been more than a year since I last used revit in my studio project, and I'm using ADT3.3 now. And I still missed a lot of features that ADT is missing.

Hi there

So can you clarify what you are saying for me? Are you saying that ADT is missing features that REvit 5.1 has? if yes what are they. I presume as you have joined this site you are active with Revit?

hi dear friend, its great that you are using ADT 3.3.have you tried your hands on ADT2004.its still great than the preveous one.its has got tremendous potential. But the buttom line is you have to follow some rules to work in this.it is no doubt a design and documentation package.but it works more like a software and less like an architect. i will tell you about revit.its great.its a solution to building design and documentation.here you will more into architecture and less into software. 1.everything is organised in a logical manner as any architect would organise his data.plan, elevation section and sheets everything. 2.everyelement is pure parametric. 3.change anything anywhere anytime and you get updated everywhere. 4.greater rendering quality with lesser time. 5.documentation in revit is easy. 6.file sharing is enabled and easy. 7. afterall you work like yourself not like the software rules. please donot compare it with acad's environment.its not atall comparable to that.Yes there are features where adt takes a longer time than revit.because we are used to acad's environment we generally go for a solution which is acad's user environment based.but believe me or not REVIT has more power than ADT. all the best bye
