I am thinking of downloading the RPC creator from Archvision, and was wondering whether anyone has used it and could tell me if its easy to use, or if they have had any problems with it?

this blog post is a couple years old but it might still be useful. claims you need to register at arcvision first, but that a free RPC creator is still available.

bond- you might not want to get tangled up with ArchVision and

those extremely high priced RPC things.. i don't know why anyone

would want to use any of those except for trees and shrubs that

are great.. and revit has tons of trees and shrugs already

in it..

okay bond- compare these two guys- one is RPC and the other

is a regular guy.. notice the RPC is supposed to be standing

on the floor but it never looks right because it's only an image..

also look at the way that image gets exposed to the light coming

in the window.. now look at the other one..

RPCs are great for trees and shrubs- but not much else in my opinion..

The image of the regular guy looks really blocky....no bueno in my opinion.  The issue you state with the RPC not looking like its touching the ground is and easy easy fix.

Two things:

1. You do not have the RPC set to the right host plane

2. You can simply change the level height to -1" or whatever you need.

Very easy to use.  Revit does have a pretty extensive landscape RPC package but that is where is stops.  It would be very very very helpful to many users if they added more people and vehicles rpcs....and why revit has not done that over the years really confuses me.   I try to make a complete product with revit rendering and not use photoshop but i find myself always messing around with photoshop to add people.  Very frustrating.
