Im just playing around trying to figure out how to make a property line by entering the length, degrees, minutes and seconds into the Deed Data table.  The Site i am trying to make has 6 sides and is not exactly retangular or square which is prooving tricky! After first go i got a retangular shape with a crazy thing going on in one of the corners, played around a but more and have managed to get lines at the right angle, but when i add the next line, it comes it at the right angle but opposite direction, almost like it has a set point it works from, like it doesnt do a line, jump to the next end to do the next line, jump to the end of that next line and so on...  I know just drawing lines would be sooooo much easier but i am determined to get to the bottom of this!!

I hope i havent made this sound too complicated, would just like to know if anyone has used this tool successfully and if there are any tricks to it?  Any replies would be helpful and much appreciatedSmile

Thanks

Entering property line via the table method requires that the lines be entered in the proper order witht the proper direction.  Frequently in reading the site plan the lengths and directions do not go in a proper clockwise order in that someone uses N as the starting direction instead of S or E vs W.  Each survey line can have the direction given two ways.

I either figure out the directions to go around the property clockwise or find the AutoCAD file and link it in and trace over or place the property lines without using the table method. [Hint: set project units to decimal feet and Angle to degrees/minutes/seconds then change back to normal after doing the property lines]

Cheers for the reply TomDorner, that did help, i also noticed i didnt have the Property Data Angle under Site Settings set to Degrees from N/S, once i had that figured out, drawing the property line was a piece of cake!!  I didnt want to try tracing a AutoCAD file, purly because there is not always going to be one available, and because revit is sooooo great it should be able to do it its self!! I am a true believer that everything should be able to be done in one programme.  Thanks for the help tho, it was greatly appreciated Smile
