I am a long time Autocad user (I have in the past, worked with ADT for about 5 years and enjoyed its power). I am now faced with skeptical co-workers about Revit and it capabilities. I am committed to making it work, but find it hard when I keep hearing about its shortcomings.

For example, as posted by MikeM today:

"For what it's worth Adesk support couldn't come up with a fix - That's the main reason why even though we've been dancing around Revit since around r3, we haven't put it into production until recently (and that has been on one relatively small project) There are just too many real-world things it doesn't do that well"

And when Autodesk can not come up with sulutions, you have to wonder. I guess I am asking if this program will be around in the future and mature as Autocad has? Any comments welcome.

FYI - Our firm does mostly remodel work and Phasing is always a issue.

Not only will BIM programs like Revit be around in the future, they are the future.
