Anyone know how to get internal wall fill patterns to show through phase over-rides? We are working on an existing building which has rated corridors - The new geometry shows great with bold lines and a crosshatch pattern for rated walls, however existing walls do not show the pattern - We have tried overlaying thick lines but Revit linetypes are very limited and they don't display that well

Existing construction display is controlled by Phase Filters and by the material Phase-Existing. The defualt Revit setting is to over-ride the display of existing construction witht he phase filter of 'show new plus existing' You can change that back to 'by category' and you will get back what you are looking for. [see attached image] If you keep the overridden value then check and play with the properties of material 'phase-existing'

Thanks for the suggestion - only problem is that changes all "Overrides" so there is no distinction between old and new - the correct solution would be to show existing in gray/screened lines, thinner lineweight but with wall section fills showing (lighter as well)

Yes, it is an all or nothing proposition. The only other solution besides drafting lines is using filters. If you assign a fire rating for the certain types of walls yuo want and establish a filter for those wall types you can then over-ride the graphic display via the filter. Worksets may also give you better control. HTH

Thanks, I'll try the filter - For what it's worth Adesk support couldn't come up with a fix - That's the main reason why even though we've been dancing around Revit since around r3, we haven't put it into production until recently (and that has been on one relatively small project) There are just too many real-world things it doesn't do that well.
