I have inserted a background image (jpeg) in a drafting view, added lines & text, and would like to produce a plot showing both original image & revit overlay.  Currently only the overlay plots. Is there a way to include the background image?

 Also is there a way to make the background image unselectable once it is inserted?

 I am experimenting with using Revit to redline a scanned image of an approval (shop) drawing, to send electronically, and create permanent copy.

You have some control over the image by clicking on it and on the options bas [the one above the drawing area] you can choose foreground/background and have some bring forward/send back controls.

Revit may not be the application to do what you are attempting though.  Autodesk makes a program specifically for marking up drawing and images called Design Review. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=6101833  It has a 30 day trial and it may be worth exploring.
