I am creating a symbol legend for my drawings by using the drafting tab and selecting "Symbol" to insert the item in the legend. Assuming that this is the correct way to do it, why is there no elevation symbol listed as one of the symbols? I even tried to run a search for the tag to reload into revit thinking maybe it just needed to be updated, but it was nowhere to be found. What can i do to insert the tag into my legend?

Elevation tags in Revit (through 9.1) are system families. As such they don't show up in the family browser and I don't think you can place them on legend views. You may have to "fake" it with some drafting lines and filled regions.

Well, that was my temporary fix. I was hoping that there might be something I was overlooking but I guess as long as the final result is the same it works.
