I'm working in plan view placing beams and joist using the appropriate usage (i.e. Girder, Joist, Purlin, etc). Not being pleased with the line weights, I'm trying to reassign a different line weight for Joists in the "Object Styles" dialogue pulldown.  However, any change I make won't take effect in my plan view.  I'm currently working in Revit Structure 3.  I don't recall a problem when doing attempting the same line weight change when working with Revit Structure 2.  Any ideas?

bump . . .

I'm having the same problem in RS 2009.

This is an old post.  Surely we have a solution by now.

I'm still working my way thru the search results.

I do not use structure but in architecture, you can expand the object category under Settings/object styles/ model objects and there are more line controls listed.  Perhaps what you need is in this expanded area.  Just click on the menu tree branch on the left.

Actually, I just figured it out and haven't had the time to post it here yet.

In the Object Styles window,

on the Model Object tab,

Select Structural Framing / Web Joist

Change the Projection Line Weight and Line Type as desired.

That will produce the desired effect in Plan Views (Course View).

Ta Da!!
