I'm working a project where we'd like to use a tapered wood column but I have no idea how to create one.  I haven't found any existing ones either.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am not quiet sure what is you are looking for but you could draw a wall the length and width of your column size and then in the elevation of it (section in front of it if it is inside your building), select your wall and "edit". Then you can mody its shape, wider-narrower.

I was able to do that to make the square column taper in two directions but I'd really like it to taper in all four.  Is there a way to angle walls so that they are not vertical?  Then I could work it in all four directions by editing two sides and rotating the other two.

I recently had to design an Arts & Crafts style period home with tapered columns on the front porch, so  I used the pyramid mass and edited the family to the size and shape I wanted.  I don't know if this idea will work for you or not ....  Attached is a rendering.
