I'm trying to make my backgrounds look more realistic by using jpegs from accustudio, google images, etc.  Every one I've tried, after rendering, look pixelated.  Do I need to change my settings somehow .... or do I just have to keep trying different backgrounds until I find one that looks right?  I was looking in former threads, and someone said to use 150dpi or larger, but these images don't have dpi info, just dimensions like 100x75 pixels.  This is for my job, so any response is much appreciated  : -)

if you are using pictures that are 100 x 75, yeah that's way too small. I would say minimum for a decent picture would start at 800x600, but it's all relative to what you consider a good background. 100 x 75 is like an avatar size. 150 dpi sounds too small to me. I'd start at 300 dpi but no further than 600. Many people feel that 300 is as good as you're going to get. 600 dpi and above you are going to get a huge file.

Thanks for your advice .... I will try to find some pics in the range you suggest.  Yeah, I thought 150 dpi sounded too small, too.  I usually render between 300-600 dpi, or it takes forever.  Thanks again!
