I think I have finally made the jump from building homes to designing homes. I have no formal training in architecture or drafting or Revit for that matter. But I think I have a very good eye for what looks good and I have educated myself along the way (for 20 years) so I'm not a complete noob at this.

I hired a saleswoman to bring in the work for me so I can concentrate on the design end instead of worrying about looking for work. Well, she has really come through on this one. She has found me about 100,000 sf of high end units in the Tribeca area of NYC. These units, from what the main man has told me, starts in the neighborhood of $10 million and up. Now I have designed a decent share of homes in the 5000 sf to 10,000 sf range, and have no trouble at all designing these. However, this has made my heart jump a little.

What I was wondering is if anyone here has some book titles of luxurious design work that I could find at the bookstore or online. I'm looking for something that will fit in with these buildings (circa mid 1800's). The owner says the units will be for mostly wealthy european types that are looking for the older New England style. There are some old pine boards he is going to remill into exposed beams and such. I don't have much information to give, I have yet to meet the owner and find out what he's looking for, but will be on Wed. after which I would like to hit the ground running.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
