How do you export from revit to dwg for import into Microstation? Everything we have tried brings the glass accross as part of the window family. Then we cannot render the glass and the frame as seperate materials. This is also true of create in place families with glass and aluminium.

you can export a model from revit to mircostation in 3d view you will get a 3d model...anything else will be forced to top view...which really baffles me, because this is supposed to be a bim product.....also...create a seed file in microstation and when you export in revit...go to the option button and choose template file...user your seed file... now going from triformat to revit...it will work, but you better off exporting out to IFC and then importing to revit...I found the same works for frame works.... my company has decided to use Revit...I am making it work, but would not have been my first choice...if your in exploratory stage...don't forget to look at archicad (graphisoft) or solidworks(3ds)... anyway I will be here for a while..if you have more questions....

I really want this to work...some good things some bad |
