Has anyone setup a system wall so that it in a section view it automatically shows batten insulation? See attached image for example. I know about the Insulation drafting command. I understand the potential file size and performance issues. I came close to creating one, but I was having difficulties with positioning the batten insulation with the correct scale and angle. -- Mark Mates www.prosoftnet.com

The solution I came up with is to create a parametric line-based detail component and insert that into a profile family. The downside is that it will not adjust to the height of the host wall automatically. You'll basically have to set up family types for wall thickness and batting height. But in the end, once your wall heights are set, the insulation will automatically show up in that wall type.

I've attached the line-base family I created and subsequently loaded into the profile family.

 HTH

Your batt6 detail companent works great in a repeating detail component. just adjust the spacing for the different sized batt widths. =)
