I am in the process of creating a template file for our office and would like to set up the room tag with a wall finish category for each of the following: North Wall Finish, South Wall Finish, East Wall Finish, West Wall Finish. By default, the room tag only has the Wall Finish parametere. How do I add the additional parameters without creating visible labels? Additionally, is there then a way to have the room tag read the finish material from the wall structure rather than having to manually enter the finish (Room Styles will not work, as we may have a room with multiple finishes and usually no two rooms are alike).

The "room finishes" in the properties of the room are simple dumb text fields. Unfortunately these fields are all you can display in the room tag. (You can of course add more via shared parameters). The function of these fields is limited to rooms with only four walls all with a uniform finish. They are holdovers from the earliest versions of Revit and most people cannot make use of them because of the complexity of real world construction. The finishes assigned to wall materials cannot display in the room tag. They could however be tagged via a keynoting system. You might want to explore "keynoting" in the Revit help menu. HTH Tom
