Are you trying to alter the visibility of your door in sections and elevations or in 3d, I'm not sure I understand your question. Please elaborate what you're trying to do and maybe there's a solution.
Thanks

I think what you have to do is select the window/door, edit the family, delete the lines you don't want in the family editor, and reimport it into your drawing.

All you have to do is edit the family and change the visibility settings of the lines you don't want to show. Just uncheck the views, in the visibility settings dialog box, you don't want them to show in.

In plan or elevation view mark the door
choose "edit family" from toolbar,
choose "yes" in window "open ::::door::: for editing?"
choose elevation view where you can see the "elevation swing projection"
be sure you marked the lines "elevation swing projection"
delete them or just put them the way you want
save the file as a new name
choose load into project
in the project mark the door
choose the other type of door, the one you create
hope this is useful to you

Another thing to look at is Model Lines vs. Symbolic Lines. Model lines show up in all views, but symbolic lines only display from a single viewpoint (ie. plan view vs. elevation view).
