I have masonry wallls. I have duplicated and renamed the walls I have assigned different materials to each. When I change the materials to one of the duplicated and renamed walls, all the walls change to the same material. What's up with this? Am I doing something wrong? None of the materials assigned seems to stick to what it is assigned to.

You must duplicate your wall type and then also duplicate your material type. If you are also trying to change what a material asset looks like you must also duplicate that before changing it

I figured it out as well. The key was to also duplicate the asset. They sure messed up the library from what it used to be.

Thx!

You don't say what revit and there have been changes over the years.   I am going to assume you are on something from 2013 and up.

Revit's materials are more than material.  They now have assets.  You are using the same asset for multiple materiuals.
