i know there have been discussions before...but i am curious how people keep their site-plans in revit with the outside consultants operating in AutoCAD?
we decided to keep our site plan as a seperate file in revit, but only in 2-D as it is a flat site, and i dont see the need to model the curbs/sidewalks/planters.
we just got our preliminary landscape drawings, and with changes inevitable (as well as civil drawings coming in), how do you guys maintain your site plans? do you keep it very vanilla until later in the process (we are mid-DD right now) and then implement everything at once? or do you constantly update linework (or the site model) based on new designs. my office likes to show the hardscape designs as a screened out background. or do you link these drawings in, and just deal with minor discrepencies (sp?).
thanks in advance

when you talk about site plan do you talk about survey or landscape? normally, the survey plan is overlayed and used to creat the topography and set the boundary, after that i take the plan out and if there is a major change to sidewalk or road, i might load again to update, but this is rare...
regarding landscape, most of the time we will be using just detail lines and field regions, except for planters and such...
