Is there a way to export a shodow study (advanced model graphics->cast shadows) from revit into autocad. I was hoping to have the shadow turn into a hatch pattern, can't seem to make it work. Exporting it as an image doesn't help.

Need help? I'm probably in my chat room!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

create a new type of filled region called shadow in ithe filled regions properties change its surface pattern to solid fill and give it a colour say magenta trace over your shadow export to dwg you should now have a hatch where your shadow was.

that puts the "work" in "work-around"! I decided to import the autocad site plan into revit and let revit cast the shadows.
