When I go in the folder that my work is in, I see like 3 or 4 files of the same drawing. Something like whatever.005 and whatever.006. how can I stop that? If I could

Go to File... Save As... Options and change the maximum number of backup(s) to 1. But I would recommend you leave the setting at 3 backups. I've been using Revit for 4 years and the backups come in handy once in a while. Post edited on 2006-09-29 23:23:02

this is for dduarte- won't this increase the file size? What would then be the best option for reducing file size?

Number of backups does not appear to affect the size of the project file. As for reducing file size we frequently Compact the file (File... Save As... Options) for large projects.
