We're a company that does timber and steel bridges. I've been looking at Revit Structural to see if that would be the recommended software. I generate the drawings in 2D now and then work up a material list from the drawings. From what I've read it would generate a material list from the 3D model. You can also make a set of plans from your 3D model. What do you guys think, is this feasible? Thanks

I haven't had any experience with Revit Structural myself, but if you checkout the www.augi.com Revit structural forums i'm sure their will be some helpful information there from people using it for just that purpose. HTH.

there is info on autodesk disscusion groups heres the link http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=414617 here is the section in the form you want to browse to. Re: Revit structure for bridges you can actually design bridges as far as geometry is concerned. and you can get drawings. The parametric technology is just perfect for this type of design. There are also terrain modeling and phases for segmental construction in the product. I have attached some examples in a Word document As far as structural analysis is concerned you would need to use RISA or Robot and then adjust the analytical model that may be incomplete for moving loads. We do not provide (yet) tutorials but our implementation team could help you out
