Hello all:
I am trying to fit my plan at 1/8" scale onto a sheet using a matchline since it will not fit entirely.
What is the best way to do this? Should I set up scope boxes on each 'half' of the matchline? Or do I have to create duplicate views of each plan half? There is an error about trying to put the same view on two different sheets.....
Please help if you can,
Thanks
BS

I have been working with a matchline for a few months now. I drew the line in Model Lines so that it would show up in all views. Then, I Duplicated the view twice. This gives me west, east, and overall views. I did use the Crop Region to cut off the unused side of the view. Then on paper I showed the overall at 1/16" and the enlarged sides at 1/8". This process is necessary for each level, as well as each Reflected Ceiling Plan.

May I ask - where do you dimensions reside for the enlarged plans? Are they in each enlarged view?

I did overall dims and main bumpout dims on the overall. Then I dimensioned each window and door on the enlarged plans. I also added the matchline to my dim string. So that you can measure off of it.

Hi again
I am noticing that room tags do not transfer from view to view if you add them to the plan after you've duplicated the view to create the enlarged plan.... what am I missing here?
Thanks

Just add the tags with the Room Tag button under the Drafting bar. The rooms are already there adding the tag will not duplicate these rooms. You can also add room tags to elevations the same way.
Did you try "Duplicate with Detail"?

Cutting/Copying and pasting aligned also works well for this scenario for the room tags.
We have done basically the same thing ArchWestCY suggests, with decent results. The only difference is that we only duplicated the view once, so we ended up with an east and west plan, without the overall. Having worked that way, I would like to have the overall in the future.
We have also used an overall plan for working and used 2 separate callouts for the different sides of the match line. If you keep these 3 views the same scale, it makes life easier.
bigstein also points out one of our major hiccups when dealing with the match lines - where to put the dimensions? Anyone else have any suggestions as we are not happy with putting in a relatively useless tiny scale plan just to get some overall dimensions shown?
