HI. The easiest way to see what I'm talking about is to open the file I've attached. It's just two walls stacked on top of eachother with a few windows in it. You see how there's a window that happily crosses the border berwtween the two walls? Well, move the window up completely into the white (Cladded) wall, then move it back either between the walls or completely into the brick wall. The wall is no longer cut as expected. The same happens with the tall window. Any clues? Thanks. Post edited on 2004-10-19 02:15:36

Had a look at your file, I see what your saying with regards to the dragging the window down and then back up again. I beleive the reason for this is to do with the opening for the window. A window can only be hosted by one wall, when there is a wall very close to another wall revit automatically creates an opening in the adjacent wall, however when you move the window revit loses this association... Solution, join geometry of the overlapping walls so they behave as one wall... The wall should now cut correctly wherever you drag the window to... Regards, Chris. Actually, That only worked in the first instance, when i moved the window again the upper wall didn't cut again. I guess the only real solution would be to add and opening to the uncut wall and lock it to the window opening so they stay together. Although i can foresee problems with that as well... I believe Revit 7.0 should fix this problem with the ability to stack walls, you will no longer have to have to walls overlapping.... Post edited on 2004-10-18 22:24:40

Yes, it's interesting that when I placed a window wholly in the brick and then moved it to be half brick/half cald it worked OK. If I did it the other way around I couldn't ever get it to work. All I got was the protroding window frame, the cut area did not cut.
