g'day, i just have been told by a computer dealer that windows xp in practise does not handle 4 gig of ram to well. he suggested to use 3 gig only, i never heard this before any comments? thanks robert melbourne

xp is designed for up to 2 gig but xp pro will do 3gig.. windows vista will be here soon and it can take all the memory you can stuff into your machine..

thanks vector23 that was a quick responce. thanks mate. i will be using xp pro with the new intel core 2 duo 6600 any sugestions how to configure the ram ? it come in 2 gig kits which are supposed to run faster. could i install say: one kt of two gig and one single stick of one gig? i cannot wait for the new 64 bit thanks so much robert melbourne
