I know this has been asked before but I can't seem to find it. I'm working on the 2nd floor of my home. I want only parts of the 1st floor underlay to be shown to aid with dimensioning, These are parts that do not go up 2 stories high. I tried the temp hide command and on screen it was fine, then all of it printed out which is not what I wanted. Then I tried copying the first floor, deleting the parts I didnt want to show up, but then that deleted parts of the original first floor. I'm missing a check box somewhere. I can't find what I need to do. Thanks for your help.

Try the VP command and then edit the view range. Set the view depth to the floor you want to see. then set the primary range bottom offset to just below what ever it is that you would like to see. Like an inch below roof height.

Alternatively you can underlay the 1st level and use the linework tool on the elements you do wish to see, then turn off the underlay.

Oooo, I like that one Mr. Spot. Thanks. I only needed a few walls showing. That'll work great.
