I have created some walls - (Conc. Shear walls) and have detached them - Disallowing join so they do not join with furring walls or other walls near them - These walls also extend 30 floors - this was need to keep the walls from joining and moving around from floor to floor. No I have tried to insert room name/tags with rooms using the shear wall as one of the room wall s- Well the room name tag does not find the room because the wall is detached - Does anyone no how to resolve this?... Do I have to put in room separation lines at every location - or should I be making my shear wall out of a column family to keep if from joining to walls - Any suggestions on what has worked for others...

Provided the room is bounded by walls on all sides there should be no issues with using the disallow join effecting the room closure... Perhaps a screenshot would help see the issue?

Use ctrl+Prt Scn to capture an image to the windows clipboard showing your issue then paste it into a graphics program and upload here. In your situation there could be numerous things causing the room to not bound correctly.
